Oh Look! Lizards & Cats !

Oh Look! Lizards & Cats !

What do you think of that ?

Oh Look ! Cat One

There is Cat number One.

Those colours look like fun,

Orange, yellow, green,

But how could it be ?

Oh what does she see

Looking at me ?

Oh Look ! Bearded Dragon Lizard

Oh Look! A Lizard in a tree

Staring back at me.

Orange, yellow, green & brown,

What  surprising things are seen

When looking through

A picture-taking gizmo-machine.

Oh Look ! A Cat! A Lizard !

Oh Look at that!

Cat Number Two!

Next to him

The Green Lizard sat,

No fur-flying blizzard.

They must be friends;

They don’t even say boo.

Oh say,

Someone is giving

Them a Hand.

Do you wonder who?

Oh Look ! Cat One 2

Oh Look again !

There is Cat number One.

Green, brown & white,

Looking at a curious sight.

Do you wonder who ?

Could be Bob, or  Bill, …. or Joe.

Well, I’m sure you know.

Note: Inspiration for the Seuss verse came after looking at The Line it is Drawn #148 – Dr. Seuss Comic Book Mash-Ups!.

The weekly web gallery The Line It Is Drawn features a different mash-up of comics and some element of popular culture.

The painting Nighthawks with the Cat, the Grinch, Sam I Am and Yertle the Turtle. Paul Hostetler did the art for this one. Here is his website.

After preparing some images of our cats & lizards, the following mash-up gave me the idea & tone for this post.

The Catwoman in the Hat -Steve Howard is the artist for this one. Here is his website.

  1. Love the colours and the cat just exudes a certain “reserved affection”.

Thanks very much. The first cat is a recent addition. It was wandering about outside, very young & very skinny.
