Yellow Leaves – Elliot Lake Fire Tower Lookout

These shots were taken Thanksgiving Monday from the Elliot Lake Fire Tower Lookout. Needed to play with the shots, had a bit of a bright wash-out from sun & a light haze. Used some different film effects to see the different results.

Actually very close to town, but you would not know it from these shots. I will post more showing parts of the community later, for now, gaze at Manitoulin Island floating in the haze of the  distant horizon.

  1. Beautiful! Your processing here almost make me think ‘vintage’ / ‘hand colored’, too…
There’s a ‘softer’ kind of nostalgia there for me… (if that’s the right way to put it)
Very, very nicely done, sir (particularly considering the atmospheric challenges you were working with)!

Thanks very much. I have been using a film effect that lets you emulate colour and grain of different types of film such as Kodachrome & Kodak Ektachrome . Hard to believe what has happen in photography; I remember a time when everyone knew the brand name Kodak, now it is part of history. 🙂
