Mathematicians & Philosophers say

There are patterns in random things.

God does not play craps

With the Universe.

God is Omnipotent.

So Who does God play craps with ?

Ask The Doctor.

Ah, it was the Dr. Who 50th anniversary episode. I have been hooked from an early age. Dr. Who is turning into an iconic/mythic character, on par with Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan, and Batman. He travels through time & space in a machine (Tardis) that is bigger on the inside than the out. It looks like a blue 1960s British Police Box. He fights the monsters/shadows using intelligence & humor, not physical force – “Never cruel or cowardly, never give up, never give in.”. Children have been watching his adventures, sometimes from behind the sofa, knowing however random or dangerous, The Doctor will protect them from the monsters and help them explore the imagination & the universe.
Hope your grandson gets to discover & share in the adventures. 🙂

      • I have heard of Tardis. But didn’t know what it was. Thanks, Joseph. I’ll investigate this Dr. Who. 😉

Found something you may find of interest. It is a blog about Classical Greek/Roman culture in modern pop media culture . Here is one about the Dr. Who anniversary episode.

Queen Elizabeth I plays a significant part in the episode.
References to sand seem to be allusions to Percy Bysshe Shelley’s “Ozymandias”.
John Rawls was a philosopher -his thought experiment plays a crucial part in the plot –

Not bad for so-called mindless fluff & an over-hyped children’s TV show. 🙂
