Bearded Dragons

We have two Bearded Dragons.  My wife designed their terrarium and painted the interior . To go with the imaginative design I used a variety of color & texture layers.  The results shift the creatures from where they appear to blend into the painted background to a textured photo-realism . Constructed reality within a constructed visual reality that poses a question . Whose constructed reality do we inhabit ?

  1. We haven’t seen your bearded dragons for awhile. The first photo looks like it could be part of an adventure series for kids. Maybe you could do a children’s book with the little creatures.

When ever I look at the lizards in their terrariums, it takes me back to watching the old B&W Flash Gordon serials after school. The serials were broadcast on the Commander Tom Show from the Buffalo station. The old serials used shots of lizards in terrarium settings to create the great lizards of the planet Mongo. Very impressive, especially when you still quite young. 😀

      • I remember Commander Tom well. He is a local here for Niagara Falls people on both sides of the border.

  2. This is one of the most beautiful series you’ve done, Joseph. Your “paintings” add to the artistry of the photos.

Thanks very much John. So glad you enjoyed. Trying to get caught up with visiting your pun park blog. I am still running slow. 🙂
