Bones of Contention

Bones of Contention

This composition incorporates shots of bone replicas of bear skulls & walrus tusks.  The replicas were on display at Science  North as part of the Voices of the Arctic exhibit. I combined these images with a modified  version of a texture layer that I call Taped  Antique Paper-16fr.

The texture has an aged bone frame and the interior elements include mandala patterns. The blue-greens  blend well with the aged bone colours and suggest depths of Arctic ice & waters. As climate change works its way through the high North the ecosystem and the creatures that inhabit it will adapt or become bones of contention.
