The image above incorporates  a stained glass effect and a Daguerreotype frame.

The second image uses antique browns and an overlay that mutes & soften details for painterly effect.

  1. The antique brown treatment in the second image works so well with the birches. Really lovely.

  2. That first one could be a scene out of “Game of Thrones” with those eerie “Walker” people.

Thanks – I was not sure if I left too much colour in this one for effective mood & atmosphere.
If you are looking for a good read that has an excellent blend of fantasy and social-political conflict I would suggest The Kingdoms of Thorn and Bone 4 novel series, by writer Greg Keyes. He creates a fantasy world whose cultural technological level is late 1500s -early 1600s. It is also has an environmentalist element – first novel, The Briar King. There is also a twist, hidden in plain sight that connects it to an actual historical event. I didn’t catch on until the second book. 🙂

Also came across an article about the Penny Dreadful literary tradition and how it forms the under-pinnings of the show/addiction.

Quite understand. My wife has so much busy that she keeps giving me some of it. And we are both retired,….. supposedly.
