Winter in The Driveway

Winter in the Driveway 1fr MT

Winter in the driveway,

Parked for the season,

Just resting.

It had been a long commute.

The vehicle was packed solid,

Clouds crowding the luggage,

Frost fingering the climate control,

Ice adjusting the satellite-radio.

After parking, the doors opened wide,

Snow erupted like white owls,

Swirling about, settling on every perch……….

Still a lot of traction in those tires;

Winter grips the landscape with confidence.

  2. I wish my vehicle was parked for the season. These days I am holding my breath from the time I get into the car and go to when I pull into my driveway.

      Know what you mean. Liz has been doing all the driving – between the eye surgery & the flu, I tend to stay home unless it is absolute necessity. The main issue up here is the wind chill. Actually low amount of snow this year – used up too much last winter.

      • The same is happening here. Not a lot of snow but low temps and windchill. I hope you are feeling better soon. My husband had his eye check up yesterday and it doesn’t look like he will have to wear glasses any more. He has to still get the second eye done on Feb. 5th but it is in better condition to start with so he is pretty pleased.
