  2. It is a constant good question to ask oneselves that can reveal much about oneself: “what part did you play?” and shed light of if it might be time to change role and play a new part…

      True. One of the things that I would try to get across to students who kept running into conflicts with other staff or students was the concept of a script & self-image/role. They got caught up in a set of roles that they played out with others that set up a scripted response in behaviour & attitude. They had to break free of the script & role to create a new outcome. Not an easy thing to do, even when you are aware that you have fallen into a trap.

      • That’s a great teacher, paying attention to the inner workings of the students. And no, it’s not always easy and one might slip back into a role for a shorter and longer time only to realise it is out dated. The pay off is although more than worth the effort of such awareness.
