This is the way Spring arrived in Elliot Lake Ontario (Canada) . No sense complaining, it is what it is – we were spoiled with decidedly above normal temperatures leading into March Break and now we head out with temperatures heading back down to below the normal range. To keep things in perspective we are not auditioning as a set for the ice planet Hoth as has the Canadian Maritime Provinces – I’m sure they would prefer auditioning for Blue Lagoon or even Pirates of the Caribbean.

@CBCNS @RCMPNS @HfxRegPolice I decided this morning more drastic measures were necessary. #oldmanwinter #ihatewinter http://t.co/um07HZs2YO—

Hope it clears soon
Many thanks.
Alas, according to Environment Canada, we still have about a month of below normal temperatures, especially Central & Eastern Canada. The new normal is unique. 😀
Oh happy spring my friend! It is a no wonder many of our Canada snow birds aren’t in a hurry to get back home.
If they are from The Maritimes they may not be able to. Whole sections shut down.
For the rest, their homing instinct are locked in a frozen loop – “Let it 1 Let it go !” This weather pattern is a plot by Disney to corner the tourism industry . 😀
Unbelieveable snow!!!!!! in the Maritime Provinces Joseph. I was thinking you were doing it tough and then you threw in the last lot of shots. How do people get around? or does everything stop until the roads are cleared? How do you find home? For an Aussie this sort of white fluffy stuff isn’t what we know as snow in our small brief wintered ‘ski’ area.
They are making the best of i, it is not their normal either. As I recall, when this big one first hit, they said Halifax had already had twice the amount of snow they would have on an average winter season. Yes , earlier this week they said that most of the Maritimes were shut down – and you can see why.
Check out some of the links provided above – you don’t know whether ( pun intended) to laugh or cry.
Even the Canadian house cats are tough & know how to wait it out.

Meanwhile, the in-laws out in British Columbia are enjoying flowers and are out golfing. Such is the situation when your country stretches across six time zones, almost 4,700 miles (7,560 kilometres), and from north to south it spans more than half the Northern Hemisphere ( had to start at the top northern half ). 😀
As I said before, unbelieveable. Poor cat he must have been grossly overweight to have survived, but still . . . . . Glad it is abnormal snow, to have that much year after year would wear you down just knowing it was coming. We could compare sizes of countries, but I won’t go there 🙂
There is a wonderful irony in how the British sent folks off to Australia ( the continent sized country ) and Canada .
I had this idea for a fantasy where a powerful cosmic force comes around an rearranges parts of the planet. Imagine Ireland & Manhattan Island just off shore from Sidney. Could drop UK into Hudson Bay with room to spare or rearrange Lake Superior & Lake Huron and put them there, not quite as cold. 😀
