Actually, the title popped into my head because I had heard on CBC radio show (The 180) a Canadian economist who specialized in the impact of immigration and refugees on the economy. He was explaining how the overall impact of taking in refugees was a positive impact. In the long term, they return much more to the economy than they initially cost. In fact they could work out an intake number that was reasonable without creating undo economic hardship in adjusting. It was between 50 to 55 thousand refugees.
Oh, BTW that net in the photo is a volley ball net for a pool. I guess that was another unconscious commentary on my part – politicians all wet hitting the ball back and forth. 😀
