The hilly rock outcrops of the Canadian Shield guarantee that finding level ground in Elliot Lake is often a challenge. There is always a slope somewhere in the vicinity and wherever you stand there is always higher & lower ground nearby. That is part of the reason they say that when they designed the layout of the town the planners were jolly drunk. 😀
