Slip Sliding Away : Seasonal Antique Monochrome

slip sliding away

slip sliding away 2

You thought I would go with the obvious choices in music –

Almost did a two step –

went syncopated down and up

in a wave of antique monochrome memories.

The choice became as variable as the season.

Snows gone, then back,

then gone like the green brown lawn,

appearing and disappearing under a white nightshirt that melts in the sun –

Slips slides and falling into spring –

Take it away Satchmo .

  1. Listening to jazz for real or did Satchmo just pop in to your train of thought during the writing?

A bit of both. I had the jazz and some other music going during the image processing. that creates part of the rhythm -free association for composing the text. I then went through possible pieces and then back to the text and suddenly Satchmo. 😀

      • Fascinating. Hearing about people’s creative process is revealing. Many thanks for your time. Warmest regards!

  2. I really like the music you include in your posts. I’m glad you went with this one rather than the Simon and Garfunkel. Or was it one of them on their own?

It was the Paul Simon song. Glad you enjoyed the music and post. 🙂
