Monochrome Monday ~ Elliot Lake Miners’ Memorial Park

Elliot Lake’s Miners’ Memorial Park, located on the shores of Horne Lake, is home to the Mining Monument, the Miners’ Memorial, and the Prospectors’ Monument. The park is dedicated to the area’s heritage and history of uranium mining. There is parking and picnic tables available off of Highway 108 in Elliot Lake.

The Prospectors’ Monument is the newest instalment in the Miners’ Memorial Park. This monument honours all the early prospectors who staked our area and discovered uranium deposits.

The monuments were designed and created by artist Laura Brown Breetvelt.

All compositions were taken with Canon EOS~90D, using the Black and White Filter setting. The setting creates a retro grainy black and white composition.

Monochrome Monday ~ EOSD90 – more than one setting

The first three compositions were taken with Canon EOS~90D, using the Black and White Filter setting. The setting creates a retro grainy black and white composition. The next two flower shots were taken using the regular black and white setting.  Considerable difference in grain and contrast from the special filter setting will be seen.
