Had to go down to Rockhaven School the other day and took a few photographs of Serpent River. Inadvertently/forgot mixed up white balance setting. Went with it in processing, an interesting range of blues & blue greens resulted. Decided to experiment a bit more with texture effects & layers to see where it might end up, somewhere along the river’s edge.

“Serpent” River? Do they even name the rivers to suit you? Next, we’ll get Eyeball Bend or some such place out of you! (I do like the last one a lot though…) 🙂

I wish that the Blind River had gone over some bluffs, then we could name them Blind man’s Bluffs. 😀
I like these blues and greens – so restful on the eye. I do also like the textures you’ve used; the second image reminds me of wallpaper from the early 70s or of something from a computer program. I think it works very well if one views the image from the water’s edge downwards – removing the darker greens of the trees. Very restful on the eye!

These remind me of contemporary versions of Monet’s Water Lilies… very cool!
Thanks very much. 🙂 My wife & I were surprised by how the water lilies clung to the river edge considering the strength of the current. The foliage obscured a view of the rapids further up the river , but you could hear it.
